Seen and Heard: ECE Tu B'Shevat Seder

Today we were able to experience the wonderful holiday of Tu B'Shevat, which is also known as the New Year for the Trees!  In anticipation of celebrating this festive holiday, our classrooms have been learning about trees and everything they provide.  As a result, all of our hallways have been filled with beautiful artwork revolved around trees as children have learned through painting and exploration.  Each classroom constructed their own centerpieces that were displayed at our annual Tu B'Shevat Seder led by Rabbi Batsheva Appel and Cantorial Soloist Marjorie Hochberg.

Our ECE children and their parents had the pleasure of tasting a wide variety of foods and juices that aren't typically consumed on a daily basis.  Oranges, olives, figs, and carob chips were several of the food items on the plate, while 4 different types of juice (from lightest to darkest) were consumed.  It was an incredible seder full of blessings, songs, and of course - - the conga line!
